Every assignment Steve takes on is fortified by nearly 30 years of experience in the strategic management of brands, identity and image – for big brands, small companies, nonprofits and institutions, including the Adventist Health System, USF Health, Dattoli Cancer Foundation, Subaru, Uniroyal and AT&T.
Steve launched Stephen A. Smith & Associates in 1997, and Consonant Custom Media in 2010.
His work has been widely recognized by the American Advertising Federation, the FPRA and the International Association of Business Communicators.
Steve has received numerous ADDY awards in recognition of creative excellence (that’s where the rebellious side comes in handy), as well as the Advertising Federation’s “Ad Man of the Year” award (that was mostly the reliable side). Steve is a past president of the American Advertising Federation – Suncoast, and a guest lecturer at Ringling College of Art and Design. He recently served as the AAF-Fourth District’s Public Service Chair, helping to launch a statewide Alzheimer’s disease awareness campaign called We CAN Florida.
